Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Mahj On (the "app"), published by Maybe Tomorrow, LLC ("we," "our"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Apple's Standard EULA
Mahj On is distributed through the App Store under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms supplement that EULA. Where they conflict, the Apple EULA controls for any matters reserved to Apple.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to use Mahj On on devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store rules and these terms.
3. Jokerless subscription
What you get
Jokerless unlocks Tile & Mat Tracking, Card Journal, Hand Picker, Table Favorites, the Game Heatmap, and Live Activity for the duration of an active subscription.
Pricing and billing
- Price: $1.99 USD per month (or the equivalent in your local currency as set by the App Store), billed to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Free trial: A 7-day free trial is offered to eligible new subscribers. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins automatically and your Apple ID is charged.
- Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically each month at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Charge timing: Renewal charges are processed within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
- Price changes: Subscription prices may change. Apple will notify you in advance and ask for your consent before charging the new price.
Cancellation and refunds
- Cancel anytime: Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not issue partial-period refunds.
- Refunds: All refund requests are handled by Apple under their App Store refund policy.
- No partial refunds: Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription, and we do not provide partial refunds for unused time.
4. NMJL card reference
The premium subscription includes an in-app reference to the National Mah Jongg League's annual card. To use this feature, you confirm that you own a current, legitimately purchased physical NMJL card.
The NMJL card is sold by the National Mah Jongg League at nationalmahjonggleague.org. Mahj On is a companion to that purchase, not a substitute for it. If you don't already own a card, please buy one to support the League and the game.
5. Third-party trademarks and non-affiliation
Mahj On is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with the National Mah Jongg League, Inc. ("NMJL"), or any other organization. References to "NMJL," "National Mah Jongg League," and the annual card are nominative—used solely to identify the rules system this app helps you score. All trademarks, service marks, and copyrighted card content are the property of their respective owners.

6. Your content
Anything you create in Mahj On—player names, game histories, photos you attach, notes—is yours. The app stores it locally on your device; we make no claim to it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the app to:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract its source code or bundled data, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
- redistribute, resell, or sublicense any portion of the app or its content;
- circumvent the subscription mechanism or any technical limit;
- use the app for anything illegal where you live.
8. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Mahj On is a scorekeeping aid; it is not a substitute for the official NMJL rules, and we do not guarantee that scores or hand identifications produced by the app are error-free. The official NMJL card and rules govern any actual game.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maybe Tomorrow, LLC and Mahj On are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the app. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Apple-specific terms
You acknowledge that these terms are between you and Maybe Tomorrow, LLC, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app to you. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may terminate or suspend access if you materially violate these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability—will survive.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are material, the effective date above will be updated and the new version posted at mahjon.app/terms. Continued use of the app after the effective date of the new terms means you accept them.
